Nifty Games, a San Francisco-based startup that develops mobile sports games, announced a $12 million investment round.
- Founded in 2018 by gaming veterans, the company is developing “clash-style” mobile games for sports fans, similar to Clash Royale. It has licensing partnerships with the NFL and NBA, a key differentiator. “Sports games have yet to hit their stride on mobile,” Nifty co-founder Pete Wanat said in a statement.
- The company’s first title is NFL Clash, which lets gamers play quick head-to-head football games.
- Seattle-based Vulcan Capital invested in the round, which was led by March Capital Partners. Owners from various sports leagues are also investors.
