A 1,500 sq. feet Mumbai home located in Matunga, designed by Ar. Raj Kothari, the founder of AVVO, revels in the panorama of the cityscape due to its strategic location. The Den House exudes spaciousness and style with earthy tones, clean silhouettes and textures, and ensures that the residents feel at home. Our stylist, Priyanka Aggarwal, leaves no stone unturned while meticulously styling each room and uplifting the site entirely. We’ve been graced with Rearrange Home’s cushions and bedding throughout the house making each space even more elegant and aesthetic.

The house envisions a sense of openness with a spacious living room that leads to a den separated by a glass sliding door. This gives both spaces a more open yet private composition and makes it a spot to host small gatherings.

The flooring and walls are kept in a muted colour palette, drawing the attention upwards to the wood panelled ceiling in the dining area. The blue armchairs in the living room from Trezure complements and adds a pop of colour to the rest of the space.

The living room, along with the dining room is well lit by the ample sunlight coming in from the adjacent balcony, which creates an inviting and warm atmosphere.

The space adorns black Saint Laurent marble which adds character to the entire area alongside a sofa cum bed from Natuzzi looking up to a statement chandelier from Occhio.

The T.V. wall is finished in a textured concrete with Egyptian hieroglyphics intricately carved giving it a contemporary touch to the otherwise modern setting.

The Master bedroom is a space that exudes comfort, style and sleekness, with clean lines and minimalistic colour schemes. It incorporates high-quality materials like African walnut veneer and fluted marble to create a warm and welcoming ambiance.

The hanging lights on the grooved surface create an interplay of light and shadow, resulting in a visually pleasing effect. This also adds texture and dimension to the otherwise plain wall, creating a sense of depth and interest.

The master bathroom features a blend of chevron flooring and brick wall pattern giving a rhythmic feel throughout the space and breaking the monotony between the dry and wet area. A custom-made floating vanity with a marble top adds a touch of luxury to the space. The large mirror adds drama and elegance to the otherwise minimal and functional aesthetic.

The kids’ bedroom has a uncluttered aesthetic that is clean and sleek. It includes a storage unit and a study table that are integrated to form a single entity. To maintain a free-flowing layout and eliminate clutter, a corner bed is used, which makes the room feel spacious, bright, and inviting.

A calming colour palette featuring powder blue and beige tones creates a gentle balance of textures throughout the space.

“Minimalism is not about having less, it’s about making room for more of what matters” inspired the basic concept while designing this space.

Simple in its character, the balcony is a breath of fresh air that uses elements and textures inspired by nature. Its wooden flooring and artificial turf design combine to create an ensemble that evokes calmness. The potted plants add an artistic character to the space, while the outdoor seating overlooks the beautiful view of the city.
