Bellevue, Wash.-based Nintex has acquired Promapp, a New Zealand firm that helps companies identify and automate their business processes.

The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal. A spokeswoman said Nintex will roll Promapp’s capabilities into the Nintex platform and retain the Promapp brand.

Nintex is buying Promapp, which was founded in 2002 by Ivan Seselj and is now co-owned by Richard Holmes, to help its customers — manufacturers, financial service firms, healthcare providers and government agencies — get a bird’s eye view of their complicated business processes, the company said. A Nintex spokeswoman said that sometimes companies can’t even identify those processes on their own.

Once Promapp provides what Nintex calls a “visual map” of a company’s processes, Nintex will use its existing technology to streamline and automate the processes that need to be updated. From there, customers can monitor and manage their work processes through a dashboard.

The deal adds Promapp’s 75 employees to Nintex’s 400 worldwide. This is Nintex’s second acquisition; it acquired Drawloop in 2015. Private equity investment firm Thoma Bravo took a majority stake in Nintex earlier this year.

Nintex is currently ranked No. 9 on the GeekWire 200.
