Love for neutrals and simplicity is reflected in this modern home in Gurgaon , which is super special to us, as it laid the foundation to the formation of our design firm – The Space Affair. It all began when I started renovating my own home. As I went with the process the interest and the love for designing starting growing and it was not long before I started designing homes for others. The home has an overall pallete of ivory & brown with hints of gold. Splashes of color in spaces is added with customized pieces of art.

The two main expectations we had from this house was sustainability, as we didn’t wanted to discard the old furniture and the other being that the house should look spacious. Apart from that we wanted to give it a minimalist and elegant look.

To seamlessly team up the old furniture with the new and modern design style with the traditional elements was a challenge. The living room and the adjoining dining space showcases a blend of styles with neutral shades dominating the area.

The furniture is tailored and kept minimal keeping in mind the functionality and the aesthetics. Mirror being the best way to add depth to a space, we opted creating a mirror wall in the living area which gave a larger look to the space.

Along with this we tailored a mini bar unit adjoining the dining area.

A timeless black and white kitchen complimented the design style and added some monochromatic impressions.

For the primary bedroom we curated a king-sized bed with a sleek and modern design for headboard and footboard inlaid with veneer in walnut finish giving a luxurious and elegant look.

An elegant clutter free dresser accommodating all the storge needs which was made in minimal space and allowed us to uplift the entire look of the room along with the functional benefits.

We have refurbished an old sofa set to add a sitting space in the primary bedroom. To give it a fresh look a contemporary table made with wood log and iron was added.

A compact and sleek yet pleasing workspace along the window with the natural light seeping in came up as the perfect spot for some productive work from home.

To add just the right amount of color in spaces, customized paintings are added which helps to brighten up the mood as well the space. Due to space restraint, we have used an open mandir concept, made in veneer, topped up with quartz. The antique handles used adds up to the aesthetics.

Keeping sustainability in mind all the prevailing doors were reused and restored in teak look laminate. The bookshelves created behind the door ensured that not even an inch of the space is wasted.

Teaming up the old furniture with new pieces has created a unique and eclectic style that reflects the personal taste and values. Keeping things clean, uncluttered and visually balanced this minimalistic style has helped us to create a calming and refreshing environment that promotes relaxation and focus.
